Privacy policy

Dockvia does not collect your data. This page explains what the app and this website do with information, and what stays on your PC.

Who is responsible

Dockvia and dockvia.com are operated by Gravisual, the publisher of Dockvia in the Microsoft Store. In this policy, “we” means Gravisual. For any privacy question, write to privacy@dockvia.com.

In short

The Dockvia app on your PC

To show your Dock, Dockvia uses information that Windows provides on your PC: installed and running apps, open windows with their titles, icons and previews, the files and folders you pin or open from a Folder Stack, and the state of the Recycle Bin. This information is processed only on your PC while Dockvia is running. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.

Dockvia stores the following on your PC:

These files are kept in Dockvia’s own app data folder; the helper that restores the taskbar may also write a short log to the Windows temporary folder. We cannot access any of these files. Uninstalling Dockvia removes its app data folder.

Microsoft Store, licences and payments

Dockvia is distributed through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft handles your purchase, trial, payment, downloads and updates under its own terms and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

To show whether you are using the trial or the full version, Dockvia asks Windows for its licence through the Microsoft Store service built into Windows. The answer is used only on your PC. We do not receive your payment details.

Microsoft gives publishers reports in its Partner Center, such as sales and download numbers, ratings and reviews and, depending on your Windows diagnostic data settings, crash and reliability reports. We use these reports only to understand how Dockvia is doing and to fix problems.

This website

dockvia.com is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, contact forms, newsletter, comments or checkout. Images, styles and scripts all come from dockvia.com itself; no third-party services, fonts, trackers or embedded videos are loaded. The Dock demonstration on the home page runs only in your browser, and the language menu is a set of ordinary links. The site keeps your cookie choice in a cookie; anything else is stored in your browser only if you allow visit statistics (see below).

Server logs

When you visit dockvia.com, our web server automatically records each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the response status and size, the referring page and your browser’s user-agent string. We use these logs only to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors. The logs are rotated daily and deleted after 14 days. We do not combine them with other data or use them to build profiles.

Visit statistics (only with your consent)

On your first visit, a banner asks whether we may measure your visits. If you choose “Necessary only” or ignore the banner, nothing is measured. If you accept, the site sends visit data to our own analytics service on our server; no third-party analytics provider is involved.

What is recorded: the pages you view and when, the time spent on a page and how far you scroll, the referring page and any campaign tags (utm) in the link, your device type and browser user-agent string, clicks on “Get Dockvia” buttons, and an approximate location (country, region and city) derived from your IP address. The IP address itself is stored shortened, with its last part removed. A random visit identifier links the pages of one visit.

What is stored in your browser: the cookie gv_cookie_consent_v2 with your choice, kept for 6 months, and, only with your consent, a random visit identifier and the first campaign tags in local storage (sess_17, ft_utm).

Detailed visit records are deleted after 90 days. After that we keep only totals, such as page views per day, that do not identify anyone. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page; withdrawing stops the measurement and deletes the identifiers from your browser.

When you email us

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, such as screenshots or log files. We use it only to answer you and keep it only as long as needed for that, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Please leave passwords, licence keys and private files out of your messages.

Legal bases

Where data protection laws such as the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) apply, we process server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website, visit statistics on the basis of your consent, and emails on the basis of answering your request.

Who receives data

We do not sell, rent or share personal data. Only the providers that run our infrastructure process it on our behalf: the hosting provider of our web server and our email provider. Microsoft processes Store data as an independent controller under its own privacy statement.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. Write to privacy@dockvia.com and we will reply within one month. Because the Dockvia app sends nothing to us, we hold no app data about you; you can remove the app’s local data at any time by uninstalling Dockvia.

Children

Dockvia and this website are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

If the way Dockvia or this website handles information changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
